On the Record

Asking to be interviewed for an article can make a person very skeptical of the interviewers authority and ability to present them well. Interviews can be very intimidating and if you don't come prepared, you might not be taken seriously and the person being interviewed might not trust your ability to quote them right. Many people don't like their opinion being quoted because they are not confident or sure of their opinion. People feel like it is not necessary to have their name tied to their quote, but writers know how beneficial it is to give the article eligibility. Interviewers should reassure and give the person they are interviewing confidence that their opinion will be published in tasteful and respectable manner.
